Children have the amazing power to grasp anything taught to them between the age of 3-8 years…. try it and parents you will be amazed!
At Gurukulam we have kids who are as little as 4 years old. At this young age they are exposed to a lot of new things – Reading new words, learning a new language (SANSKRIT), understanding the meaning of a shloka and lastly by-heart a shloka with the help of recordings. The one thing I have observed over the last 4 years is that the Reading Skills of kids JUMP to an extent which is inexplicable.Parents are amazed with what shloka learning and memorizing can do besides helping anger, restlessness, violence and a lot more.
By the age of 6 or 7 years they are able to read amazingly well even words which are big/difficult for their age. But here’s a serious problem I face – There are a few kids who drop out thinking that reading and learning are hard. Parents need to give their child atleast 6 months for any kind of new learning. This helps us to know how much the child has learnt in 6 months keeping in mind their reading skills and even the interest levels of the child.
PATIENCE is key in any kind of learning!
